Bro. Bill Britt recently led a team to the countries of Kenya and Tanzania to preach the Gospel, train leaders, and encourage the saints of God. The team members were Sonny Simpson, Gary Hanberrry, Don Guice, Dianne Glasgow and Kakie Elshout. This year the Crusades were held in Webuye, Kenya and Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. As the Kenya Crusade began so did the spiritual warfare. In a time of year that it never rains, it did. The massive sound system came crashing to the ground one evening. A group of witches met each evening to pray against the Crusade. However, in the midst of the battle, the power of God broke through and thousands not only attended and heard the Gospel, but responded by giving their hearts and lives to Jesus! Evangelist Bill Britt stated, “As I sat in the truck at the Crusade grounds, I wept as the torrential rains fell and thousands of people began to scurry away to find shelter. Later that night we assembled at a local church, and even though the crowds were much smaller, I rejoiced when many came forward to publicly confess Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.” The crowds grew each evening and the response was overwhelming. The team traveled from Kenya to Tanzania to be welcomed at the Dar Es Salaam airport by a band and many believers. The warfare, even though in a more subtle way, was as evident as it was in Kenya. In attendance of this Crusade were many Muslims. After the Crusade one evening, eight Muslim men and women came to Bro. Bill and asked for prayer. Each one of the precious people bowed their heads and prayed to receive Jesus Christ and renounced their false gods and their idols. In these two Crusades, over 20,000 people came to Jesus! It is always refreshing to see the believers in Africa worship and express their love for Jesus! So many of them are eager to hear and learn the Word of God. The Churches that are located in the area of the Crusades are filling up with new converts that came to faith. The Pastors and church leaders are doing a fabulous job of following up and discipling the new believers. Immediately after the Crusades a team of believers canvassed the city to locate those who had been born again. Then, the local Pastors met with many of them a few days later to let them know about the churches in their area. Each morning the men and women divided to have their own conferences. Sonny Simpson, Gary Hanberry, and Don Guice did a great job teaching the Pastors and the rest of the men. Dianne Glasgow and Kakie Elshout conducted the very first women’s conference and were used mightily by the Lord. The materials and information that the ladies used has already been shared in other churches and cities. One of the highlights of the trip was to be able to give 50 Pastors a Study Bible, Bible Commentary, a Concordance and another volume which is an overview of the entire Bible. These were provided by people of God across the United States.
Please continue to pray as preparations are being made for 2007 African Crusades.
